Introduction and Principal Lines of Business

Canadian Banknotes Canadian Bank Note Company, Limited (CBN) was established in 1897 to design, engrave and manufacture high security documents. Firmly established in its domestic market, CBN has printed postage for the Government of Canada since 1897, and has been a trusted supplier to the Bank of Canada since its foundation in 1935. Postage stamps and banknotes constitute two core products for CBN's present day Payment Systems business.

Over the years, CBN has grown its Payment Systems business to provide a broad line of security print products and related systems and services. CBN's reach now extends to the international marketplace, where the company is recognized for its design and manufacture of security products, including banknotes (both on paper and polymer substrates), gift certificates, postage stamps and revenue stamps, point-of-sale electronic terminals and other secure electronic systems for transactional processes and payment related products.
